I have been at home and off-line for a week.

I moved back to my house from Julia's on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. That is almost 4 months from the time of the fire.

My house is beautiful. It looks all new. Most of the rooms have new surfaces on all six sides.

Julia says the fire was a blessing in disguise. I won't go that far but will say that it had some advantages.

I wasn't able to get my cable internest access going. When they painted this room, they moved everything, including the computer, out. I wasn't able to correctly re-connect it. Finally today I tried everything I knew, gave up, and called the internet access company. The guy at tech support was very nice but he and I were talking different languages and just never connected. But in the midst of our conversation I suddenly realized what I had been doing wrong. I fixed it and now here I am. It is very good to be back. You don't realize how much you depend on the internet until you are cut off.

I am still homeless. But my sister Julia is still sheltering me.

The house is looking much better inside. All rooms and ceilings have been painted except for the kitchen, laundry room, and sewing room. They should start installing new carpet everywhere this week.

Yesterday while I was visiting I saw that they had put up the ceiling fan in the living room. It looked so nice and shiny and new. It was new. The old fan was lying in a corner.

I am getting used to living with Julia. I no longer feel so compelled to write emails or write in this blog. Julia is my outlet for all these random thoughts. She is a good listener and she is smart enough not to let me know if she disagrees with me.
